Klapa Subrenum

The story of the Subrenum klapa, whose name derives from the old name for the Dubrovnik parish "sub brenum", and its members, true promoters of klapa songs, and therefore of cultural values, began in 1992.

All these years, from its foundation until today, nurturing the indigenous national heritage in expression through vocal klapa performance and polyphonic acapella interpretation, Subrenum occupies the very top of the klapa scene.

Since its foundation, it has represented the Croatian tourist and cultural offer, promoting traditional musical heritage as a segment of the autochthonous cultural heritage of Dubrovnik County, Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Dalmatia and the whole of Croatia. Consistency and quality are proven by recorded performances at festivals, shows, meetings and presentations in the country and the world, won awards and recognitions and four editions of audio carriers.

These enthusiasts and lovers of Dalmatian song, in addition to acapella performances, decided to add instrumental accompaniment (mandolin, mandola, mandolocello, guitar and double bass) to their repertoire, and in this way continued to nurture the tradition and characteristic musical forms of the Dubrovnik region, and thus at the same time they are also gaining an ever-increasing reputation in the klapa world.

In addition to numerous performances throughout Croatia, they toured five times in the United States and in Russia, Italy, Slovenia, Belgium, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Germany, everywhere above all successfully presenting the beauty of the original Dalmatian and Dubrovnik songs.
